The body shop problem in PI litigation.
When your client's car goes to a typical body shop, the shop optimizes for one thing: getting paid by the insurance company. Cheap aftermarket parts. Skipped supplements. Sloppy documentation. The repair gets done — but the case file ends up empty.
What happens when the shop doesn't have your back:
No timestamped intake photos. No frame measurement reports. No record of hidden damage discovered during disassembly. No supplement requests filed when the original estimate missed structural work. By the time the claim goes to negotiation or trial, you have no evidence that the damage was as severe as your client says it was — because nobody documented it.
That's not a partner. That's a liability.
What we provide your firm.
Eight specific capabilities most body shops can't or won't deliver — built for South Florida PI attorneys handling auto accident cases across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.
Evidentiary Repair Documentation
Timestamped high-resolution photo logs at every repair stage — intake, pre-disassembly, post-disassembly, frame measurement, parts replaced, paint stages, and final delivery. Organized digital files ready for deposition or trial exhibits.
Hidden Damage Discovery
Insurance adjusters miss damage. We find it during disassembly — bent frame rails, damaged airbag sensors, compromised crumple zones, rear-end damage that propagated forward. Documented with photos and engineering measurements your case can use.
FL Statute 559.917 Supplement Support
When the insurance estimate underestimates the actual repair scope, we file properly documented supplement requests under Florida's Motor Vehicle Repair Act. Every supplement is supported by photos, parts invoices, and OEM repair procedure citations.
Most-requested by PI firmsFact-Witness Availability
Lionel — 27+ years in the automotive industry — provides written affidavits on repair scope, parts decisions, and damage observations. Available for deposition or trial testimony in cases where written documentation isn't sufficient.
OEM vs. Aftermarket Disclosure
Complete transparency on every part installed. OEM, quality aftermarket, or LKQ — disclosed in writing. Insurance companies often push aftermarket; we document when this happens so your case can address parts-quality arguments at settlement.
ADAS Calibration Records
Pre-scan and post-scan diagnostic reports showing which safety systems were compromised by the impact and verification of restoration. Critical evidence in cases where ADAS-related injuries (lane departure, automatic braking failure) are alleged.
Multilingual Client Communication
English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, French. Your client never gets a "we couldn't reach them" gap in the file because we couldn't communicate. Real edge in South Florida PI work where many clients are non-native English speakers.
Direct AOB / DTP Billing
Your client signs an Assignment of Benefits or Direction to Pay — we bill insurance directly. No client out-of-pocket. No billing intermediary issues. No friction between repair completion and case progression.
What we don't do.
We DO NOT perform diminished value appraisals. The shop that repaired the vehicle has an inherent conflict in valuing the post-repair loss — and defense attorneys know it. Our role is to provide the repair documentation that supports an INDEPENDENT appraiser's diminished value report.
For independent diminished value appraisals, we coordinate with certified third-party DV appraisers who specialize in Florida claims. We provide them with our complete repair file. They produce the appraisal. You and your client get a defensible valuation that won't be undermined by a "the shop has a financial interest" cross-examination.
We also coordinate with accident reconstruction experts when their analysis requires repair-side data — our frame measurements, point-of-impact assessments, and disassembly findings often validate or refute their conclusions.
Case Types We Support
Turnaround that respects case timelines.
Attorneys hate when shops drag repairs past statute deadlines or critical case milestones. We don't. Attorney-referred clients receive priority intake — typically scheduled within 1-2 business days of referral. Standard collision repairs complete in 5-10 business days. Major frame and structural work in 2-3 weeks.
If a case requires the vehicle to be preserved unrepaired for inspection or expert review, we provide secure indoor storage at no cost during litigation.
What this partnership looks like.
When you refer a client, here's what your firm gets:
What an attorney told us.
"I've worked with body shops for 12 years. Most do the bare minimum — fix the car, send the bill, no real documentation. Total Care is different. The repair file they delivered for my client's case had everything I needed to defeat the defense's parts-quality argument at mediation. We settled for 40% more than the initial offer. They've earned my referrals."
